Cheers to our Mothers!

It’s a packed episode of the Weekend Word of Mouth. This week, we begin with a tribute to our Moms and we also end with a tribute to our moms – different ways of honoring the women making the world a better place by being a Mom.  We talk about some great news for people, businesses, and our Black Hills Communities! We discuss actions on an executive order, an invitation to laid off police, and curriculum agenda in our schools. Then to top it off, we get to hear from Lee Delange, Chief Operations Manager for GenPro Solutions. He’s talking about the Black Hills Energy proposal making changes to taxes for renewable energy. There’s a lot to take in, so let’s get started!

Happy Mother’s Day!

WWOM

Happy Weekend everyone! Hopefully we’re all getting ready to kick off another stellar week of getting things done and creating growth, progress, and well being!

00:26 – To kick off today’s podcast, a tribute to our Mom’s out there. There are many amazing women helping to raise amazing young people, and even more who have already done the raising. So, to all of the Moms making a difference – Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you for being you.

04:15 – Of course, we get to hear about the good things in the Black Hills next! We talk about three different new businesses that set up shop, brilliant young minds making a difference, seasoned minds enjoying retirement, and kids excelling. It’s been a great week for the Black Hills – but then again, all of the wonderful people getting things done and making things happen every day are the very reason for it.

12:36 – After the feel goods, there are certainly some news items worth mentioning. The first of which is the 30 X 30 land grab that was signed into law through executive order. We talk about a couple of different actions being taken and different perspectives on what this initiative would accomplish. 16:10 – The other interesting news item to note would be about a map recently released by the Biden Whitehouse outlining the travel routes to find charging stations. There were two states left out of the travel plans entirely. Can you guess which two?

17:32 – Here’s where we take a moment to note a couple of things that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has been up to. We’ve already talked about the lawsuit over the Mt. Rushmore fireworks display, so today we talk about her invitation to laid off police officers and her strong move in signing the 1776 Pledge To Save Our Schools.

19:34 – The best part of today’s episode would be this interview with Lee Delange, Cheif Operations Manager for GenPro Energy Solutions. We talk a bit more in depth about this policy proposal put forth to the Public Utilities Commission by Black Hills Energy. This change, if passed, would affect the whole area as well as the individuals already using alternative or renewable energy on their properties. Lee shares a good perspective based on a solid understanding of exactly how the energy industry works in this area. 38:00 – The last piece of today’s audio entertainment to talk about is some original music in honor of Mother’s Day. The song is called Mom’s Song and it’s by Guardian Angel. Written around 8 years ago, this is my story. Thank you all for listening, and I’ll talk to you next week!
