For the 411 on Social Media Marketing
Allow me to Introduce Myself
My name is Ashley Smith owner of Social Jargn, a social media marketing company, and I have been helping solo entrepreneurs, small business owners, and non-profits manage their social media since 2012. More businesses are transitioning to or adding some sort of an online model to their business and shifting their primary marketing to social media – especially since COVID hit. People are spending more time online than ever before, with Facebook and Instagram reporting record-breaking user activity. In addition, pandemic or no pandemic, the cost of advertising on social media is super budget-friendly compared to other marketing mediums. If you are a business looking to cut costs, social media is an inexpensive way to advertise.
After years of meeting with business owners and clients, a common request has always been individualized training, a presentation to a group, or an easy DIY method for social media as hiring me wasn’t in their budget. After a lot of brainstorming, I am happy to share that I have finally come up with The Social Jargn Challenge.
What’s the Challenge?
The Social Jargn Challenge is a 42-day social media training course for entrepreneurs who do their own social media or for their staff who do the marketing for them. Throughout the six weeks, I will cover the settings, features, strategy, analytics, and ads on Facebook and Instagram for businesses; essentially everything a person needs to know to use social media for their business. The course is held via a private Facebook group and each day addresses a different aspect of social media marketing as well as how social media fits into your overall marketing and sales strategy through a post, video, or live session. In addition, participants receive unlimited access to me for the duration of the course if they get stuck – no assistants, no bots… they get me!
How do you know this will work?
Anyone who has signed up for a social media workshop or boot camp might wonder what makes mine different. I knew I would have to stand out and also provide a unique value to people. So when I started researching I noticed a common theme among these other courses – they would only tell people what to do. They wouldn’t show them how to do it. And I realized the how is what people really need! So, the how is why The Social Jargn Challenge is different – I include the how by providing step-by-step instructions to implement each concept. I built it this way because I truly want to help people learn and improve their social media presence.
But that’s not all!
After determining what I wanted to include in the course material, I started thinking about how I could add additional value and make the content easy for anyone to learn. I didn’t want someone to disqualify themselves just because technology is a challenge for them! One of the biggest hurdles I’ve seen working with clients and in creating a presentation is the varying technology skill level between participants. For these reasons, I include an additional week called Tech Tune-Up to the core material of The Social Jargn Challenge.
The whole shebang!
Tech Tune-Up week covers basics from how to take a screenshot and setting up your accounts to anything else to help people get up-to-speed on the technology and prepared to take the course. There’s also a list of apps and accounts to set-up and vocabulary terms to help with understanding.
Tech Tune-Up begins June 1st while The Social Jargn Challenge will begin on June 8th. There are still spots available, but I am limiting the number of course participants so everyone is able to receive the attention and help they need. The material for Tech Tune-Up will remain in the Facebook group, so if a person joins after June 1 they still have access to this information.
Now is the time!
I built The Social Jargn Challenge not to just teach people about social media marketing but also how to do social media marketing. Because so many entrepreneurs have shown interest in this kind of opportunity, I believe in the idea and a full class would confirm there is a need for what I am offering. With that said, I encourage anyone with an interest to register ASAP! I would love for this to be a continuous option for people. We have so many small businesses in the Black Hills and with new ones opening up each day, being a steady resource for entrepreneurs would be fantastic.
