Let’s Talk

Start with the basics

Business cards, and flyers are just the tip of what can be done. Here is a short list of a few other common ways to use printed marketing for your business.

Posters – Bigger than flyers, these can be great for movie releases, or opening dates for productions and events. Or maybe this would be a good option for artists to market their artwork to the world.

Banners – Again, great for events and productions, especially as a way to showcase sponsors. Then again, if your business sets up booths at home shows, a banner would make a great backdrop for your business space!

Stickers/Decals – Stickers make GREAT giveaways! Imagine, if everyone has your sticker or decal on their cars, windows, or computers – your brand could be everywhere! You could also use them on envelopes or boxes as part of the packaging or floor graphics in your storefront.

Flags and Yard Signs – First of all, it’s a political year so there will definitely be an abundance of yard signs. However, signs and flags can really add to your storefront visual appeal. Also, for those out-of-town businesses, flags and yard signs could be helpful to provide directions.

Direct Mail/Post Cards – If you’re business provides service to a specific area, or if you have a list of clients who have signed up for your campaign direct mail could be a good option!

This list most definitely does not include all of the options when it comes to printed marketing material, but it should hopefully be enough to get the ball rolling. Just make sure that whatever method you choose, tailor it to the demographic of your potential clients.

Thinking outside the box

The possibilities are endless as long as you’ve got the creativity and a solid budget. Pro-Tip: make sure you have designs that fit whatever type of printed promo being used in your printed marketing strategy. In other words, design the graphics to fit the mode rather than just using the same graphics for each.

There were a couple of items that Jon discussed during the conference that make great examples of adding that “extra.” One creative addition mentioned was scented varnish on business cards or for direct mail campaigns.
Imagine getting a business card for a candy store that smells like jolly ranchers… pretty sweet!

Printed Marketing made easy

The best part about going through a small business for your printed advertising needs is the rapport that can be build once business has continued over time. They know how to effectively utilize the services and when your account rep knows you and your business, they can help you to tailor the printed marketing strategy to help get the best return on investment.

The possibilities are broad, but the service is custom.
