About Us
Dirty DAHG Productions is the growth and evolution of a dream to reach people and make an impact on the community through music. Eric and Genneca Houser are a husband and wife duo who began their relationship through their love of music and performing. In late 2010, they found each other and began writing music together and by March 2011 they performed together for the first time as RIP Soldiers, Half Dead and Guardian Angel. They were an opening act for Esham at the Sunset Bar and Grill outside of Casper, Wy. The crowd response was astounding and only encouraged them to move forward – and so they did.
RIP Soldiers took their music to South Dakota, Colorado, Texas, Illinois and further, and it was a blessing as well as a struggle. It didn’t take long to find out that the opportunities for aspiring rap/hip hop artists to perform came at a high cost and low return. Events, many places, were nothing more than a lineup of any artist with money who could pay $300 or more for 15 minutes on stage before the headlining act. Promoters weren’t doing much in the way of promoting because the artist “buy-on” required them to sell tickets in order to make their money back, so it was all put on the opening acts to spread the word. Then, on top of it all, the general public didn’t like showing up at the events until just before the headlining artist because no one knew who the opening acts were.
That’s when Dirty DAHG Productions was born. Deciding to still create music as RIP Soldiers, Eric and Genneca decided to make an impact on the Black Hills portion of the music world and focus on creating events there. These events showcased lesser known artists as well as touring underground performers, and the occasion was always designed to create crowd participation. DDP wanted to be the company that promotes EVERY artist that steps foot on stage, so that the community can get to know all the talent personally. We also wanted to build a neworking community with the other locally owned businesses in the area and small businesses across the country – that way all of the money passing through the business and every fitting opportunity can stay in the community that helped to build this dream. At Dirty DAHG Productions, it’s all about making connections and bringing the community together through music.
