Underground Hip Hop at the Summer Jam

…And this is why summer is the best time of year!

Summer time is always a treasure trove of live events, great music, and reasons to get together. On July 20th in Casper, we had the great opportunity to set up a table with Spectral Siren Art and be privy to some real talent. Reese Promotions held the Hip Hop Summer Jam 2, the second edition of a yearly series that he began last year. This lineup was chock-full of music we’d never heard before (and some we have). Artists like Osh, FreeFlow, Rage, and more really brought the heat for a full crowd of people there to have fun. All that really combined to create a great event.

It kicked off right from the beginning.
The evening began with a line of people out the door ready to get in for the music. It was really cool to see so many faces filing in of many ages and everyone ready to dance and support the music scene. There was a really neat spot to order some food and all of the tables were taken at one point in time. Sometimes, even strangers shared space! Oil City Beer Company had a a great list of some wonderful microbrews of varying kinds. There was even a spicy jalapeno beer and a dark brew called “Cup O’Joe” that tasted fantastically like cold brew coffee! Delightful!
The artists all put in some work on the stage. Under the lights, it was extra hot and all the bodies in the place sure helped hype the energy levels up but didn’t bring down the temp at all. But it didn’t stop the show or even slow the good time down. At one point, there was even a small mosh pit – quite a surprise to see at a rap show!
After the intermission break, everything kicked back off again without dipping the energy at all until just a bit later. There was a little drama two-thirds of the way through the evening as some traveling artists had to make the realization that their music was NOT what anyone was looking for. But immediately, that was handled and everyone got back to having a good time.

Then it ended strong.
The show was running late after the first half, so the amount of time for sets got cut down. We were lucky enough for Reese to slip in a performance by Half Dead and Guardian Angel at the end and bring down the house, though! It was only three and a half songs long, but it was enough to make a mark on a Casper stage after almost 10 years of absence from that part of the scene.
There was so much love for us in that room and the energy really made the whole experience. Thank you to the many people who showed up to support us! You guys are the REAL MVP’s and we are so lucky to have you all in our corner! To everyone who heard us for the first time, we hope you liked it! If you did, check out the rest of our media and music, leave a message, and overall – Welcome to the squad!
