Fun at the Four Winds Music Fest

Genneca Houser, owner of Dirty DAHG Productions, and Shaelynn Houser, owner and artist behind Spectral Siren Art, spent the 21st and 22nd in Rapid City at a celebration of art and music! Events of this nature take a lot to put together – not only for the planning and coordinating but the artist lineup, security, refreshments, and the rest. Any number of things could go wrong, but this the people working on it did such a wonderful job and the event was absolutely great.  (Shout out to Mitchell Stafford for booking us as a vendor and taking good care of us!)
Honestly, the event staff was wonderful to work with and the people who came to play really understood the vibe of the weekend. They came to be a part of it! Even with few vendors, there was a great deal to see. So, to have a table set up and to be a part of the Four Winds Music Fest was so much fun!

The Four Winds brought more than music!

This year, the event was hosted at Aby’s of Rapid City. They had three different stages with different music being performed the whole time – and it was really varied in genres. There was definitely something for everyone! Then, as if that wasn’t enough, there were multiple different vendors set up, each with their own unique brand.
Our table was there, of course, and featured our new t-shirt designs, some handmade jewelry, Kindness Destroys Hate clothing, and an affiliate business raffle package. Spectral Siren Art was present with some really radical clothing customization services, amazing hand painted art, really fun and original pins, and her brand new t-shirt design. We hung together as a team the whole weekend and met some wonderfully fun and unique people.  Tristen was among the most gregarious of the group as she massaged the tension out of necks, backs, and shoulders all weekend. You can check her wonderful services out in Rapid City by looking up Sweet Serenity Therapy. There was artwork, customizable Black Hills gear, beautiful and some exotic plants, and even some 3D printed toys and decorations. The bartenders were friendly and efficient.
We also had the honor of being interviewed for The Scene, a podcast based out of South Dakota. Bubba Startz is a seriously talented musician who also shares a desire to highlight the wonderful art and music that so many across South Dakota and the Midwestern states have to offer. He’s got great content as he interviews great people on this podcast, so be sure to check out The Scene!

We’ll definitely be looking forward to next years Four Winds Music Fest event in Rapid City! In the meantime, check out pictures below from our time over that fun weekend.

But the Music was Pretty Radical, too!

On Friday night, our table was set up in a corner outside of the singer/songwriter stage. It wasn’t a great view to the stage, but we could hear music from where we were at and there was some serious talent presented! Saxaphone, piano, guitar, and really wonderful vocals from so many talented artists; and much of the music was original! (Dirty DAHG Productions is BIG on showing love for original music and artwork!) The other two stages had just as much wonder to behold with full bands bringing some really great jams! Bert Malcolm, Josh Sheppard, Tanner Johns, Camp Comfort, GoodFire, Rowan Grace, and The Rathco are just a few of the artists who rocked the stage on Friday night, and it was wonderful.
Saturday was even more fun for us as we set our table up outside in the glaring sunshine. (It’s cool, though; we planned ahead for it!) Outside on Saturday was the hip hop and rap stage. It was HOT but fun getting to see all the talent. Our table was snugly placed next to Strange Music merch for Snake Lucci, Matt Phoenix, Taebo tha Truth, and King Iso. What’s even better, we got to meet them all and some others in the crew. That was a great experience; they’re really great performers and genuinely wonderful people.
On the inside stages, there was more original and cover music from individuals and bands of different genres. The energy and the crowd interaction was stellar. It definitely looked like everyone was having fun at the festival!
